So I’m in this new frame of mind, of keeping life a lot more simple than I did in previous years. I’m definitely not about new years resolutions, though one could classify this new thought process as that but it wasn’t intended that way. I want to keep purchases very tight and do a lot less hauling. I’d like to keep my purchases mindful, thoughtful and limit them to key quality items. I also shredded my collection down to only keeping a handful of any given type of item (i.e. blush, eyeliners etc.). I have high hopes of keeping things streamline, we’ll see! Anyhow I only (as if those three didn’t break the bank! Ha!) purchased three items from the Tom Ford line which I might add is my first time trying anything from this brand.
Becca Ombre Nudes Eye Palette ($40.00).
Becca: Create natural depth and subtle highlight with velvety soft, tone-on-tone ombre nudes. Matte shades provide pigment-rich, nude tones for a variety of neutral looks, from subtle to bold. This palette is ideal for contouring the eyes and face, great for filling in sparse brows, and can be used wet or dry as an eyeliner.
Currently on sale at Urban Decay for $20.00 (retail: $49.00). Both Ulta and Sephora have sold out. Urban Decay: This is the smoky eye done the UD way: a true range of shades (Neutral mattes! Shimmering jewel tones!) for a range of smoky looks. We’re giving you everything you need to create the perfect smoky eye, Urban Decay style. Zipped inside this sleek, mirrored case are ten decadent shades (five are exclusive), including neutral mattes and shimmering jewel tones for a range of smoky looks. Sure, you can create a smoky eye with a range of gray and black shades. But what about a touch of purple, blue or bronze? The Smoked Eyeshadow Palette lets you keep things simple… or get a little more creative. (TIP: If you need a basic daytime look, stick to the range of matte neutrals. Throw the palette in your bag, and add some smoke as you leave the office.)
I know this is a tiny haul but I wanted to post it while the sale was still going on. Sephora is selling the Urban Decay Smoked Palette for $20.00 when it retails regularly for $49.00. The full sized 24/7 liner that comes with it has a value of $18 alone and who doesn’t use a black liner for something? Super duper value. It is sold out at Ulta but still available at Sephora and Urban Decay. I hear they are getting ready to discontinue the palette.
Too Faced: Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00), are they worth the price tag?
Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette ($49.00) is unfortunately only currently available to VIB and VIB Rouge members at Sephora online. I’m personally not a fan of this type of sales tactic but what can you do? It will be available online for all on 12/15 and then available in stores and on the Too Faced site in January. I hope you enjoy the post and find the first impression helpful when deciding whether or not to buy it.
Inspired by Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection, this Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette is a deeper, warmer version of the original coveted palette. Infused with the scent of sweet chocolate, this collection features 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused shadows in matte and shimmer shades with warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate, and vibrant sugared blueberry hues. These rich, high-pigment shades are perfect for any season, and it includes a signature how-to Glamour Guide to help you get started with three eye looks.
Twas’ the night before having to drop off my kid to preschool and I found myself playing around in my lipstick drawer like we all do, so I decided to group together some of the recent colors I’ve been wearing and a few I intend to wear throughout the rest of the season. Was that just a run-on sentence I wrote? Ok, here we go.
1. MAC Verve Lipstick. MAC’s Verve is one of their original first lipstick shades created. This is the 90’s shade on trend right now moreso than infamous Kylie Jenner’s MAC Soar Lip Pencil obsession. No really, research it and you’ll find out that this is the exact shade girls on the runway were wearing in the 90’s. It’s a beauty and I owned this way before this trend came back because blotted its very classy and gentle. I’ve been through several of these tubes.
