Four High End Product Fails

1. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
I’ve tried this on three different occasions in two different colors. For my needs, it’s just not that great of a concealer and I get similar/ better results from Maybelline Fit concealer. It’s biggest problem is how thick its consistency is.

2. Josie Maran Argan Exfoliating Cleansing Powder
If you’ve ever tried and loved Dermilogica Daily Microfoilant and had hopes this was similar then you’d be greatly disappointed like I was. I had hoped this would have been a cheaper more luxurious version of the Dermilogica but was shocked that when I opened the seal a huge explosive chemical puff cloud popped in face and I both inhaled and ate the product. The container was 3/4 filled and the exfoliant never dissolved unlike the Dermilogica. Major fail.

3. Urban Decay Naked Double Ended Brushes
These are actually great brushes in terms of the synthetic material used but where the real problem comes in is the density. They are so tightly packed that there is nearly zero mobility and therefore blending becomes a nightmare. You end up doing more exfoliating than applying or blending.

3. Hourglass Arch Brow
This isn’t a fail because of the product itself but because of its packaging moreso. See my in depth review here.

Internet Trolls

In the past two days I’ve encountered several instances of internet trolling.  It’s a little out of sorts for me to rant outwardly but I felt after the third time I’d vent a little.  Who better to vent to than to the very guys and gals that face the same type of bullying?  I’d normally just blow it off as I’m completely aware of the trolling that comes with the beauty blogging. vlogging, guru, YouTube terriotory etc.  I haven’t experienced it much at all until the past two days.  I think until it happens directly to you, you don’t realize the effect that it can have on someone.  It’s an obvious problem for many people on a much larger scale but I don’t think it’s acceptable for even the odd one or two episodes for the unknown blogger.  Luckily I’m a super strong lady but not everyone has the personality built for bullying and for those people I worry.  I know I’m not the best at applying makeup,  I know that I could improve in just about every facet of beauty but the point of all of this, for me, is the art of it.  The art of photographing makeup, the art of collecting it, the art of applying it (whether you think I suck at it or you don’t), the art of writing about it, the art of organizing it and finally and probably most importantly the meeting and making of new friends that love the very things that I do.

For a very short moment I thought about shutting down my Instagram and blog AGAIN.  Then I decided to revamp things, add some new features, adjust the comment security section and most importantly refocus my attention to the positive outlet that this community generally is.  So I’ll let the trolls keep on trollin’ and go about my day.  I hope that everyone who is affected by trolls and bullies keep in mind that the trolls win when you let them get to you, so I’m simply not going to do that.
